The Minister for Roads and Highways Hon Kwasi Amoako-Attah on his working tour under the Year of Roads agenda inspected some Roads under construction in the Ningo Prampram district and some facilities which operate under the ministry.

The minister inspected an axle load station on the Ashiaman Afienya road and ordered its relocation because most drivers who overload their vehicles dodge the station due to its location and end up damaging our roads.

He further inspected the road from Afienya to Dawhenya which is under construction and expressed satisfaction at the rate work is going on.

He also inspected a section of the Prampram to Dawa road which is in a deplorable state and indicated that it will be fixed soon.

Though that road is tarred, a portion of it was left out because it wasn’t part of the contract awarded to the contractor.

The Minister visited a ferry site at Ada which is been operated by the Ghana Highways Authority, where the minister revealed that a document will be submitted before the cabinet for consideration because the facility needs immediate attention.

He also indicated that govt will be glad if the private sector partner with govt to give a new face-lift to the facility.

He revealed that the country used to have about 20 ferries in the facility but we are left with only one, a situation he referred to as unfortunately but was quick to add that in no time an advertisement will be on the media space for possible investors both foreign and local investors.
