Ashaiman NPP Inaugurates Communication Team

THE Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Greater Accra Region, Divine Otoo-Agorhom has charged communication members of the party to offer their all to effectively publicise government policies and achievements to Ghanaians.

According to him, the party maintaining power depends largely on how best they will communicate to the electorates.

The Greater Accra Regional Chairman tasked the communication directorate during the party’s inauguration of a 50 member communication team at Ashaiman Constituency dubbed ‘Grassroots Communication Network Project (GCNP).

The move forms part of efforts to beef up the party’s communication activities in the constituency ahead of the 2020 general elections.

The 50 member team is made up of zonal communication chairpersons and free agents communicators.

This is the second NPP’s communication directorate to be set up and inaugurated at the constituency level with the initial inauguration held at Dome Kwabenya.

He continued that NPP is the only political which deliver on it campaign promises unlike the largest opposition party, National Democratic Congress (NDC) which dwell on propagating falsehood.

“You are the mouth piece and face of the party and through you the party will win 2020 polls. Sell the party to maintain NPP in power,” the chairman stated.
For his part, Greater Accra Communications Director, Nana Francis Ebo Mensah who supervised the inauguration of the communication team assured the group of his support as well as the Regional Directorate.

He emphasized that party communicators play vital roles in politics, adding that a party such as the NPP would not neglect its party communicators.

The Communication Director prevailed on members to serve the party and the nation with all their strong point and ability, saying that “In doing political communication, you need to be committed and assertive to protect and promote the policies of the government, the Communication Director noted.

Explaining the reasons for the formation of the communication team, Joseph Otoo, Leader of the GCNP, said the communication team was set up to inform and educate the people in the constituency about the NPP government’s ongoing projects, assigned projects, and achievements.

According to him, the members are expected to undertake house to house visits, radio and TV discussions, zonal tour and public awareness on government achievements, and organize seminars and presentation.
