The Western regional Police command has said public education and sensitization on Covid-19 safety protocols has been key to the enforcement of directives to ensure mass adherence to covid-19 protocols in the region.
This according to the Western Regional Police Command PRO, DSP Olivia Ewurabena Adiku has so far resonated with the public in the region.
This was revealed in an interaction with the media during a disinfection and fumigation exercise being undertaken at various police installations across the region.
Fifty-four police stations and installations across the Western Region have been disinfected by Zoomlion Ghana Limited following the upsurge of cases of COVID-19 in the region.
Unlike some regions where the police are arresting breachers of the COVID-19 protocols, the Western Regional Police Command says it has intensified its education on the need for the public to adhere to the protocols especially in Takoradi.
The Public Relations Officer of the Western Regional Police Command, DSP Olivia Ewurabena Adiku said the command will commence arrest of residents when its sensitization fails.
The Regional Manager of Zoomlion, Alhaji Abdulai Abdallah told journalists the exercise is being undertaken concurrently across the region with special focus on Police facilities that are patronized daily by the public.
