A modern library and an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Centre has been commissioned at Awutu Breku in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region, which is the first of its kind in the community.

The centre which was constructed by the Eugene Arhin Foundation was commissioned by the benefactor of the foundation, Mr. Eugene Arhin, in the company of the Central Regional Minister and some paramount chiefs from the Awutu Traditional area.

This is one of the three libraries being constructed by the Eugene Arhin Foundation. The 30 seater State-of-Art library has a 10 capacity ICT center, reading rooms and a car park facility.

Eugene Arhin, who is also the Communications Director at the Presidency, in his address, said his dream come to reality as he recounted the genesis of the newly commissioned library and ICT centre.

He said in February this year, he met the Awutu Traditional Council and asked for land to construct a library.

He acknowledged the quick response of the traditional authorities which has resulted in the construction of the library facility.

He pledged the provision of similar centres in the adjoining communities of Bawjiase and Senya Bereku
Recalling his formative years, Eugene Arhin said he did not have the opportunity to use a library until he got to university.

This experience, according to him inspired his commitment to make such facilities available to the communities and also his contribution to facilitate the educational needs of the community and beyond.

Mr Eugene Arhin made a fervent plea to the beneficiary communities to make good use of the facility to serve its intended purpose.

The Central Regional Minister for her part, prayed for God’s guidance for Mr, Eugene Arhin for the foresight and vision to attend to the educational needs of the people.

She implored parents to ensure their children remain focused on education to be of good value to the community.

The Omanhene of the Awutu Traditional Area Abokuadi Whettey Agyeman-Larbi II, who graced the occasion was full of praise for the 38-year-old engineer turned communication specialist for his philanthropic efforts in the community and beyond,

He promised the support and assistance of the chiefs in all endeavors of Mr. Eugene Arhin as he spearheads the development of the area.
