Part of the road between Obetsebi Lamptey interchange to Kanashie which was damaged due to last night’s downpour and flooding has been restored and opened to traffic.

The Minister for Roads and Highways Hon Kwasi Amoako-Attah who inspected the affected area applauded contractors working on the road QGMI for the swift intervention and repair of the damaged road.

Speaking in an interview, the minister assured that govt will do its best to ensure the safety of all Ghanaians.

The Minister further bemoaned the attitude of some Ghanaians whose actions are partly to blame for most of the flooding in the capital.

Underground drainage has been blocked with waste, such as plastics, unused fridges and freezers, mortar and all kinds of waste.

This according to engineers makes it difficult for the smooth flow of rainwater causing flooding in some areas.

He called on Ghanaians to change their attitude towards the environment for the development of the country.
